What is an institutional repository?

An institutional repository is a publishing platform that provides a publicly accessible online space for work to be showcased and recognized.

FIRST is a service of the Fanshawe College Library, in collaboration with the Centre for Academic Excellence and the Centre for Research and Innovation, FIRST is a digital warehouse for content produced by our diverse campus community. It is a permanent, open access showcase of Fanshawe's innovation, research, scholarship and teaching activities.

Publishing your work to FIRST increases the visibility and accessibility of your work worldwide and facilitates connections with other scholars and researchers who share your interests.

Adding research to FIRST satisfies the Canadian Tri-Agency Open Access Policy on Publications as well as requirements of other research funding bodies.
